Another issue with QB and thinapp 5.0.
Thinapped QB crashes every time on exit.
I have tested QB 2013 and QB 2014 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2012.

Is it possible to run same thinapp package as two instances each with own sandbox ?
I have thinapp package of some banking app and one user needs to run two different instances of the same app but with the different data. I can of course build just another package with different package and sandbox name but this complicates things in the future.
So I'm wondering if it's possible to "select" sandbox on entry point level or something like that.

Thinapp 5.0, removable disk and ghost drive letters
I'm using some simple applications packaged with Thinapp 5.0. When a thinapped V5 app is running and I eject a removable disk such as usb flash disk, the drive letter remain assigned.
When a removable disk is re-inserted, the next available letter will be assigned..
The only way to reclaimed the "ghost" driver letters is to close any thinapped application..
Any clues?

ThinApp 5.0 ProgramFilesDir behavior adjustment
I am currently testing ThinApp 5.0 with our different applications when I came upon an interesting issue.
With 5.0 the %ProgramFilesDir% directory is smart in that on a 64 bit windows OS running a 32 bit ThinApp application it equals the "C:\Program Files (x86)" directory and on a 32 bit windows OS it equals "C:\Program Files". I find this feature helpful, however in the situation of applications that still use hard coded paths this functionality can be a killer.
This brings me to my questions and hope. Is there a method for disabling this "smart" redirect and force %ProgramFilesDir% to equal "C:\Program Files" or force the ThinApp to function as if it is running on a 32 bit OS? Wanted to note that I have tried the Wow64=0 and even Wow64=1 switch with no luck. ><

howto change default program
Dear All,
Please help.
We install visio viewer in OS image, that correspond with ".vsd"
Later, then thinapp "visio pro 2010" & publish it out by console.
But when we click on example.vsd, the viewer launch.
do anyone know -->howto change "visio" launch instead of "viewer", if thinapp visio was published

Thin App packages are not getting launched on Windows 7 computers
they are giving errors like " Failed to open, find, or create Sandbox directory: registry probe failed for C?\users\public\desktop\thinstall\safari" for safari, there are some other packages as well which are giving the same error.
For example I am attaching snapshot for Safari:

Thinapp file associations.
We are in the middle of piloting VMware view for our virtual desktop.
We have a Windows 8.1 gold image with Office on and we thinapp all other apps.
The problem I am having is with file associations. I have read a lot of posts about thinreg, but that doesn't seem to work.
Our apps are registered in Programs and features (add/remove progs).
For example, Visio 2007. The user wants to double click on a vsd file and have it launch Visio.
The thinapps are on a network share.
Is it a Windows 8.1 problem? Can anyone else open a vsd file in Visio?

Runas problems
Hello,
I have created several apps with thinapp. Now I want to run the apps as a different user using a bat file with the command runas.
MS Office works.
But Google Chome and Mozilla Thunderbird cannot be started.
Google Chrome window is visible but gray and extensions notice window appears with the message that the extension crashed.
Mozilla Thunderbird don't start at all. The path to the profile cannot be found - I get this error message in the cmd-window.
When I log in as the other user which I am using in the runas command then the applications don't have problems. So I also have checked the permissions.
Does anybody please have a hint what I am doing wrong.?

Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Illustrator CS6
Hi Cievo ,
I have packaged the Adobe Photoshop elements and adobe illustrator . I have published the application through thinapp in vmware view console . Every time the user clicks on the Adobe illustrator or photshop elements the pop up windows comes up for sign in . It works for one day and again tomorrow the same thing .
After recomposing again it works the same way . Is there any way to make it better .

Lync Basic 2013
Hello, i'm trying to package this application that you can download for free from Microsoft. I'm following this document:

The only additional steps is that i'm deleting the MSOCache folder in order to reduce the size of the package and I'm using thinreg /a to register the application. On the machines that i don't have office 2010 natively installed Lync is working 100%
Unfortunately i have some machines with Office 2010 and APP-v deployment tool for 2010 already installed and on these machines sometimes the applications is trying to repair, and because MSOcache is missing is failing.
What i can see when i run "ospp.vbs /dstatus", the office activation is having some error code and the way to fix it is to use ospp.vbs /act. It looks like for some reason ThinApp is "touching" the Office Software Protection service and in Windows logs there is an error "The system was tampered". What i can see in my project, the folder with all ospp files is with FULL isolation?
! Is there anyone who tried to capture Lync Basic 2013? Any help will be really much appreciated!!!!

Google Chrome Flash could not be loaded
Hello,
I have a thinapped google chrome running on different machines.
On my 8.1 notebook flash doesn't work anymore inside chrome.
I don't know what happended whit my OS (automatic updates not enabled) but I get a message "the plugin could not be loaded" everytime I want to see a flash animation.
Does anyone know what to do to get it running again?

ThinApp failed to open, find, or create Sandbox directory.
I have made a thinapp for MS Office 2007 Pulisher. It is deployed to a test linked clone pool. The users profiles are on a separate D: drive. The Thinapp gets deployed properly, but when the user starts the app I get the following:
ThinApp failed to open, find, or create Sandbox directory.
Registry probe failed for c:\users\testuser\appdata\roaming\microsoft office Publisher
It seems it's assuming the user profiles are in c: and not d:
how can I change this in package.ini?

Thinapp IE 8 to work on a VMware view image with IE 10 or 11 installed natively
I am trying to create a thinapp for IE8 so our users can go back to IE8 if they run into compatibility issues when we upgrade to IE 10 or IE 11. The thinapp I created works great on my current image with IE 8 natively installed but when I update Native IE 8 to 10 or 11 I get the following error
The instructions at 0x5e036ac3 referenced memory at 0x5e036ac3. The memory could not be written
If anyone has found a workaround or if you have virtualized IE8 with a current version of thinapp please post your instructions. Thanks

ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions with wildcards
Hello does anyone know if it is possible to enter a value for ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions with a wildcards, or a tip for flash.
We want to run the local installed flash outside the virtual environment. But the flas executable name is FlashUtil32_11_3_300_257_ActiveX.exe.
When we install a new version/update of flash we need to build our iexplore thinapp everytime.

Feature Request: ThinDirect ADM/ADMX modification
I am in a large organization where we may run into the limit of 25 sites per virtual browser. I know that I can use two of the Virtual Browser #s to point to the same ThinApp package and it works, but I would like to keep all the sites for one browser under the same Virtual Browser #.
My suggestion would be that the ADM/ADMX file be changed to use a ListBox so there could be any number of entries that could be redirected.

How to change the sandbox %AppData% folder structure and name?
I need to change the sandbox %AppData% folder name, but when I launch the application, it creates a new folder named %AppData%. Is there any package.ini parameter that allows to rename the sandbox %AppData% folder?

Unable to load Thinstall directory from Entry point executable
A couple customers recently received this error when trying to launch a Thinapp (PowerBuilder application). This Thinapp has been in production with no issues for over 2 months (almost 500 concurrent users)
Customers restarted their VMs and were able to connect to application with no issues.
Thinapp built using 4.7.3 (cannot migrate to current version of Thinapp )
Windows 7 64 bit (created on)
Windows 7 64 bit (deployed to)
Thinapp is streamed from a network NAS share.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Oracle SQL Developer Thinapp?
Hello,
I'm trying to create a thinapp for SQL Developer, but the app doesn't install like a typical app, and only runs from a folder. I'm not sure if this can be done in thinapp, and I can't find any solid sources on it being done. Does anybody know how to do this, or if it's even possible?
