I have a scenario where I need an application to be packaged and delivered with the following criteria:
1) Virtualized
2) Fully isolated from the host machine (especially host filesystem)
3) Delivered as an Untrusted application over a public network with no requirement for viewing client to be installed
I'm using Thinapp currently for 1&2. I haven't found away to completely isolate an App-V application from the host filesystem.
I'm using Windows RemoteApp to deliver the virtualized package. The main reason being that every windows machine has an RDP client, and RemoteApp works well for this. The problem is that it doesn't like VMWare packaged applications. Anyone have any idea why?
I can run the same App-V packaged application with RemoteApp delivery just fine, but a VMWare Thinapp package loads (with a little notification indicator that the application is starting), and then 5 seconds later it just kills the connection. Is this a RemoteApp issue, or RDS issue? I can't really tell.
Or are there alternatives for this problem, perhaps a browser-based plugin for viewing a ThinApp package?
