Hi All,
We are currently evaluating Thinapp, and I have a question about the isolation side of things. Here is the situation:
1) Java 1.4.2_08 already installed as part of the OS build
2) Thinapp Firefox 3.0.8 and goto javatester.org and it reports Java version from base build (as expected)
3) Thinapp Firefox 3.0.8 again but this time including Java version 6 release 13 via Application Link - goto javatester.org (reports v6.13 as expected)
4) Leave Firefox from step 3 loaded, then load the original Firefox and javatester.org reports v6.13
Is this as you guys would expect? I'd expected (hoped) in step 4 to see Firefox reporting Java 1.4.2_08 in one window and v6.13 in the other window. But it seems that the first Thinapp'd Firefox to be loaded sets the standard.
Perhaps I'm missing something but I thought this technology would to be able to deliver multiple copies of the same app bundled with different versions of Java but it doesn't seem to be the case...
Any info greatly recieved.
Thanks,
Rob.
