Hey all,
I've Thinapp'd Office2007 according to the instructions given here: http://blogs.vmware.com/thinapp/2008/10/how-to-thinap-1.html, using 4.0.4. I've got the .exe's and .dat file on a network store, and I'm using a logon script to register the applications with thinreg.exe. Access, Excel, Infopath, Powerpoint, Publisher, and Word all work without any flaw.
Outlook, however, has many issues. Starting from the top
1: Users that had Office2k3 or 2k7 already installed had archive .pst files in their default location: %username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Is there a way to set the Thinapp'd version of Outlook to look in this location for and add .pst archives by default? The other issue is that when I'm prompted to attach the .pst file, and I navigate to the default location, I can't actually see any of the pst files. They're there, but I can't see them from within the browse window. Currently all I've been doing is moving the .pst files to another location and adding them. Works fine, but takes manual work.
2: Outlook crashes A LOT. Unfortunately the errors in event viewer are non-descriptive, so I have nothing to show. Basically, it doesn't matter what's happening within the application, it'll simply crash giving the option to send the error report. Sometimes this will happen and I'll be unable to re-open Outlook, and will have to re-register a new package of Outlook. This is the largest issue I have right now, as all of my test users report crashes of 10-15 times throughout the work day.
If I had more information specifically to give about the crashes, I would. Unfortunately I have little to work with. Any Ideas?
