Google SketchUp 7 : failed to create process default activation context

Hello,

I've tried to thinapp Google SketchUp 7. After I built the package I get the "failed to create process default activation context" error , and then "could not load msvcr80.dll ... " or something

ThinApp 4.0.1.2866

captured on a Windows XP SP2 French VM (baseline snapshot)

package run on a Windows XP SP3 French physical box.

vc 2005 runtine is packaged together with Google SketchUp 7.

So I tried to run the package on the VM I used to package it after I reset it to its initial snapshot: it works !

I also tried to run the package on a Vista SP1 box: it works.

I tried to run it onto another XP SP3 physical box at work: "failed to create process default activation context"

So I though, maybe an issue with XP SP3 ?

I applied SP3 to my capture VM: Google SketchUp package still works!

Conclusion: uh ... what can I conclude ?

On some boxes, it works, on other it doesn't ... and not an SP3 issue. It seems to be related to already installed components in the baseline setup ?

boxes on which it doesn't work have multiple versions of the C runtime 2005 installed on C:\Windows\WinSxS and C runtime 2005 is also in the package.

I also went into this thread http://communities.vmware.com/message/967041#967041

But I could not find any spaces in manifest files and I'm sure this issue has been corrected since.

well ... no more idea

any clues ?

thanks

Alban
