I am currently evaluating ThinApp for my company. We have an engineering application running on a network drive which affect performance. The load time is very slow. We installed the application locally and the performance was 3X improvements. I use ThinApp to virtualize the application. The first method was served through a shared PC (3rd option in the wrapper - network/custom) and the second method copying a virtualized app to a local PC and run it locally on the test machine. In both cases performance was good compared to a network drive. But application wrapped using ThinApp is still 30-50% slower compare to the application install local on the PC.
Is it possible to optimize a virtualized application using ThinApp? If so, how? We want to use ThinApp but the performance gain is a wash.
