ThinApp 4.7.3 and Firefox 16.0.2 Performance

I'm seeing considerable delays and lag with Firefox v16.x when used with ThinApp 4.7.3 when being run in a virtual machine and can't seem to figure out why.

To set this up, here is the virtual machine environment:

View 4.6 Windows XP SP3 clean install (nothing installed, all apps are virtualized).  Also tested using a Windows 7 Pro clean install as well.

Other ThinApp'd applications exhibit no lag or delay (including all of the Office 2010 suite, the vSphere 4.x client, FoxIt reader, etc.).

Both machines have 2GB of RAM and plenty of storage space.

The Firefox thinapp process:

Nothing fancy -- I'm using a Windows XP SP3 Pro machine as my capture machine that has nothing installed.  Ater the prescan, Firefox gets installed with no add-ins or changes, post scan takes place.  It's not managed with Horizon, Everyone is authorized to run, set to Restricted Write Access, and the sandbox is located in the user profile.  The PDC is set to a separate DAT file (I know it can be self contained).  The end result is about a 70MB DAT file, not too bad.

So here are the symptoms:

When the application launches and opens up, there's about a 5-10 second "pause" where if you click anything (menu, new tab, link on the default google/mozilla home page) the application immediately goes to "not responding".  Creating new tabs takes on average 5-7 seconds from the time you click until the time you can begin typing in the address bar.  Clicking between tabs can take between 3-5 seconds.

These symptoms are consistent across both of the virtual machines.  When I run the application on a full desktop computer I see no issues at all.

Is this a ThinApp issue?  Hard to say if the packaged application works fine on a full PC and not on a virtual.

Is this a VM issue?  Hard to say if other virtual applications run fine on the VM.

Looking for thoughts and suggestions on troubleshooting further, thanks!
