Hi there,
Office 2010 activation stores machine related info on the registry (HKLM). That information can't be applied to another machine.
So, when users roam Office 2010 will no longer start with the dreaded licensing issue.
It is not pratical to make delete the sandbox because:
- Users don't want to loose their personal settings every time they start the application
- Office apps will always show as Not Activated. This is because of the fact that only after the second run they become activated, but as we delete the sandbox every time will be a first run.
Merging the OfficeProtectionPlatform registry entries will also not work because then users will not be able to write to the local HKLM and activation will fail.
So, what to do to fix this?
Thanks.
