I have installed and packaged an application using ThinApp on a virtual machine. If I return the virtual machine to the previous state (just before the application was installed for packaging) I can run the packaged application without any issues. When I go to another computer and run the packaged application the Windows Installer pops up and does not go anywhere. It just sits there for ages. Eventually it pops up another message about the 'Install server not responding' (Retry or Cancel). When you choose cancel it goes back to the Windows Installer, Preparing to install...
Apparently something is different between the environment I used to package the application and the second computer I attempt to run it on. The packaging environment is Windows XP Pro w/ SP2. The other system I tried to run the packaged application on include a pre SP3 patched Windows XP Pro with all versions of .Net frameworks and a Windows XP Pro w/ SP3 only .Net 1 framework. The application is QuickBooks Enterprise 7.0. I have successfully packaged QuickBooks Enterprise 6.0 and 8.0. QuickBooks 7.0 installs the Microsoft Runtime Library and .Net 1.1 before installation of the QuickBooks installer.
Have this same issue with Thinstall 3.3 and ThinApp 4.0. Any ideas on what I can do to get this issue to go away?
